The Class of 1939 included Velma Terry (Valedictorian)  and  Mittie Bell Almond (Williams). Terry would later marry Jesse Terry, Sr. Together, they founded the largest black-owned apparel manufacturing company in the United States. Almond graduated from Tennessee State University and had a successful career with the Fulton County Georgia government.
